I recommend this book to people who is interested in scientific fiction novels. Not to mention the depressing characters. But what happens when the President of a whole country goes through such an experience? It had to take a lot of work to make the subject of death so dry and uninspiring. From then, people start living by doing only good deeds but this was crashed by a woman who wanted to disturbed the Thanatonautes.

I read that book when I was in high-school and it really did something to me; it’s a clever and original novel about the discovery of the last land unknown to mean, Death. Jun 27, Artem Huletski rated it it was ok.

Werber’s depiction of society is painfully simplified, as if narrated by an egoistic child unable to imagine a thanatonaites of view different than its own. Perpetually fascinating subject of death, the sixties and finally action not set in the USA! No trivia or quizzes yet. Little attention is given to character developement; incredibly vague individual traits make it easier to distinguish the protagonists by their names rather than words or actions.
