It is well presented and takes into consideration all types of couples. Finished this ages ago hard to find time coke update with a newborn lol. I have since passed it on to two friends who were expecting for the first time and they also found its good balance of comedic relief and facts reassuring throughout their pregnancies.

A very nice change from the more serious reference coike pregnancy books. I didn’t really enjoy the story that goes along with it all. Also it conforms to the “medical model” of childbirth and I wanted information on a more natural way of having a baby.

Enjoyed reading week by week what was happening to me and my baby. I especially enjoyed the “real girl diary” entries which are a fun and very unserious point of view on the practicalities of being pregnant in real life which sometime these pregnancy books and magazines can overlook, giving us unrealistic expectations of what we should and shouldn’t do.

But you can’t please everyone. I absolutely loved this book. My husband was a little taken aback but I found it incredibly more useful than any video, and learning what a two- or three-day labour actually looked like was incredibly reassuring. All in all this was a good guide to read each week during my first pregnancy but as mentioned in the ‘cons’, I fooke find the writing style a bit contrived and bordering on patronising.

She is generally quite relatable.
